The Ondo State Government has released the cut-off marks for admission into public Junior Secondary Schools for the 2026/2027 academic session, following the completion of the state’s admission assessment.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology said the cut-off marks were determined based on candidates’ performance in the examination, which had a maximum score of 300 marks.

The ministry, in a statement signed by its Press Officer, Bisi Lawani, on Tuesday, said the assessment remained a key requirement for admission into government-owned secondary schools.

It explained that the exercise was designed to ensure that placement was based on academic performance, thereby promoting transparency and merit in the admission process.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Igbekele Ajibefun, commended officials involved in the exercise and said the examination was conducted successfully and the results released without unnecessary delay.

Ajibefun said the timely completion of the process demonstrated the government’s commitment to making admission into public schools transparent and efficient.

Similarly, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Akindele Ige, said the assessment was aimed at promoting fairness and ensuring that pupils who performed well had access to quality secondary education.

Consequently, principals of public secondary schools were directed to commence admission for candidates who attained the required scores, while education officials at the zonal and area levels were instructed to coordinate the exercise and parents and guardians advised to obtain information from designated education offices or their children’s former schools.
