Opposition plots to destabilise our government have failed — Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has declared that efforts by the opposition to destabilise his administration have failed, reiterating his government’s determination to complete all major ongoing projects across the state.

Speaking at the State Executive Council meeting in Osogbo, Adeleke, who reviewed the state of governance, said the implementation of his five-point agenda has recorded appreciable achievements across various sectors, stressing that those who plotted to derail his government have failed.

He said, “They plotted, but our God plotted for us. They were surprised that we survived the siege they laid on our government and the people of Osun State. They are still in shock that our government is still standing today.”

The governor credited divine support and the mandate of the people for the achievements of his administration, insisting that his government remains committed to its five-point agenda.

Adeleke maintained that Osun had broken free from what he described as a legacy of underdevelopment and infrastructure deficit, assuring residents that outstanding challenges would be addressed.

On the Osun State Electricity Market law, he directed the Commissioner for Energy, Hon. Festus Adeyemo, to prepare a proposal for the establishment of the regulatory commission.

The council also commended the implementation of payroll reform under the new administration, which has led to the seamless deployment of the World Bank-supported SIFMIS, and reaffirmed its rejection of the Sally Tibbot staff audit report.

In addition, the council set March 1, 2026, as the resumption date for the first batch of newly recruited teachers, directing the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Dipo Eluwole, to comply with the deadline.
