Osun APC heads to tribunal to challenge Adeleke’s electoral victory

Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that it is heading to the election petition tribunal to challenge the result of the July 16 governorship election in the state.
It would be recalled that candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ademola Adeleke was declared the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Adeleke won with 403,371 votes to beat Governor Adegboyega Oyetola who polled 375,027.
He also won 17 out of di 30 local government areas in the state.
Addressing journalists in Osogbo on Thursday, the state chairman of APC, Prince Gboyega Famodun said the party has concluded plans to drag INEC, PDP and its candidate, Senator Adeleke before the election petition tribunal.
According to him, the party’s lawyers have looked into the case and described it as a good one.
Famodun then assured members and supporters that the party will reclaim its mandate through legal means.
He said: “We are going to challenge the victory of the PDP and its candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
“We are going to the tribunal and our lawyers has let us know that we have good cases at the tribunal.”
He called for continuous support for Governor Oyetola and the progress of the party, warning against anti-party activities.
