Osun at 35: Adeleke pledges focus on industrialisation, wealth creation

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has pledged to strengthen the state’s development through greater focus on infrastructure, industrialisation, rural development, wealth creation and ease of doing business.

Adeleke made the commitment in a state broadcast to mark the 35th anniversary of the creation of Osun State, assuring residents that his administration would build on its achievements across critical sectors.

The governor said the government would consolidate its efforts in infrastructure, digital economy, sports development, agricultural mechanisation, education and healthcare expansion, while giving special attention to youths, women and students.

“We will expand industrialisation within the scope of workers’ welfare. Our state will witness particular attention to rural integrated development alongside a renewed focus on ease of doing business. We will focus more on creating wealth and deepening anti-poverty initiatives,” Adeleke said.

He added that his administration would continue to implement its renewed five-point agenda in line with due process, procurement regulations and project implementation best practices.

Adeleke said the government would also refine its adoption of the local content model while expanding financial inclusion through cooperative sector financing.

Acknowledging the challenges experienced by residents in recent months, the governor pledged to heal the wounds, unite the people and uphold equity and fairness, assuring that his administration would remain inclusive and receptive to criticism.

He, however, sought the continued cooperation of residents in delivering good governance, promising to work harder and never disappoint them.
