Osun government endorses OMPG 2025, promises full institutional support

The Osun State Government has officially endorsed the Osun Military and Paramilitary Games 2025 (OMPG 2025), reaffirming its commitment to promoting sports as a tool for unity, discipline, and youth development.
Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi, who also serves as the Commissioner for Sports, gave the assurance during the endorsement ceremony held at the Government Secretariat, Abere. He described the initiative as a laudable step toward fostering collaboration and fitness among security agencies across the state and beyond.
Adewusi commended the organisers for their vision, noting that the project aligns with the developmental agenda of the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration. He said the government considers sports not just a recreational pursuit but a vehicle for community building, discipline, and peace promotion.
“The Osun State Government is fully committed to supporting every initiative that advances the growth of sports and fosters unity among our people. The Osun Military and Paramilitary Games 2025 is an inspiring concept that will strengthen cooperation and healthy competition among our security agencies,” he stated.
The deputy governor assured that the government would continue to provide an enabling environment for sporting activities to thrive. He added that Osun has a rich history of producing exceptional athletes and remains focused on sustaining that legacy through consistent investment and partnerships.
The OMPG 2025, powered by Ace Sports in collaboration with the Osun Sports Officers Association and the Osun State Ministry of Sports, is expected to be one of the most unifying sporting events in the state’s history.
Participants will include personnel from key security formations such as the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, Fire Service, and Immigration Service. The competition aims to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and inter-agency camaraderie while showcasing the role of sports in fostering national integration.
Representing the organisers, the Chief Operating Officer of Ace Sports, Mr. Olayinka Olawole, expressed appreciation to the deputy governor and the state government for their strong support and encouragement.
