Osun PDP adopts Tinubu for 2027, endorses Adeleke for re-election

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in the 2027 presidential election.
The party also reaffirmed its endorsement of Governor Ademola Adeleke to seek a second term in 2026 on the PDP platform.
This decision was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the party’s leadership caucus meeting held at the Government House, Osogbo, on Monday, following extensive consultations and public engagement with various stakeholders across the state.
The party noted that a majority of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun were opposed to the idea of Governor Adeleke defecting to the APC, a rumour that did not originate from the governor.
According to the communiqué, PDP members in Osun were also displeased about the defection rumours but had only shown willingness to follow Adeleke out of love, support, and loyalty to his leadership.
The party further declared that both the governor and all PDP members in the state should remain with the party, noting that the PDP remains very popular and more acceptable than any other political party in Osun State.
It also mandated the PDP leadership in the state to transmit the resolutions to all party organs across Osun and urged Governor Adeleke to stay focused on delivering his Five-Point Agenda.
The communiqué was signed by Governor Adeleke and 27 other top PDP leaders in Osun, including former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi, National and State Assembly members, party elders, and notable stakeholders.
