Oyebamiji fulfilled promise despite election loss, says Ifelodun plank dealers

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
The Ifelodun Plank Dealers Association, Alekuwodo, in Osogbo, Osun State, has commended the APC governorship candidate in the August 15, 2026 election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, for fulfilling his promise to reconstruct damaged culverts, retaining walls and drainage channels in the market.
Speaking on behalf of the association, its chairman and secretary, Pa Joseph Olabode and Mr Olatunde, respectively, expressed appreciation to Oyebamiji, saying the intervention would protect their businesses from further damage caused by flooding and erosion.
They said the damaged retaining walls and drainage channels had previously caused serious flooding in the market, resulting in damage to structures and threatening the safety of their businesses and goods.
The association disclosed that Oyebamiji promised to address the problem when he visited the market during the electioneering campaign and expressed delight that he fulfilled the commitment despite losing the election.
“We, members of the Ifelodun Plank Dealers Association, wish to sincerely thank and appreciate our very own APC governorship candidate in the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, for keeping to his promise,” the dealers said.
The plank dealers said the intervention came at a critical time when rainfall, flooding and erosion were threatening their shops and businesses.
“We specifically requested this when he came to visit us during the electioneering. He promised to build it, and today, he has built it. Even after the whole thing that happened in the election, he still fulfilled his promise without delay. This is a promise made, a promise kept,” they said.
The dealers added that the intervention had demonstrated Oyebamiji’s commitment to service, saying the drainage walls and culverts had given them peace of mind and protected their businesses from destruction.
