Oyo State Acting Governor, Bayo Lawal, and leaders of the Allied Peoples Movement have called for greater synergy, inclusiveness and reconciliation among the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The call was made at a strategic meeting convened by the Apex Campaign Council and attended by the APM governorship candidate, National Assembly and State House of Assembly candidates, party leaders and members of the campaign council.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation among candidates, addressing internal concerns and developing a coordinated strategy to secure victory for APM candidates across Oyo State.

Speaking at the meeting, Lawal urged candidates and party leaders to remain united and disciplined, stressing the need to work collectively and take the party’s campaign to the grassroots.

He said the party’s success would depend largely on the ability of its candidates and structures to support one another and ensure that its message reaches voters across the wards and local government areas.

Similarly, the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, said the council’s mandate covered not only the governorship election but also the National Assembly and State House of Assembly contests.

Adeniran also said the council would mobilise support for Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential ambition in Oyo State, while urging members to take the party’s logo, candidates and message to communities and announcing reconciliation meetings across the three senatorial zones.

Meanwhile, APM state Chairman Otunba Adegbenro Fagbemi urged candidates to work together, while Alliance Party Chairman Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro described Makinde as a pillar of hope in Oyo State, and APM governorship candidate Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi thanked the party leadership and called on members to work for the success of all APM candidates in 2027.
