Oyo College of Nursing introduces clock-in system to curb absenteeism
By Adejayan Gbenga –
The Oyo State College of Nursing Sciences, Eleyele, Ibadan, has introduced a clock-in system for staff to address absenteeism and promote punctuality.
Provost of the College, Dr. Gbonjubola Owolabi, announced the initiative while addressing staff on Tuesday.
She noted that during some unannounced visits, she found several workers absent and some offices closed during official working hours.
Owolabi said the device would help curb lateness and indolence, adding that similar systems would be installed at the College’s campuses in Kishi and Oyo Town.
She explained that the move aligns with Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to improving education and healthcare by ensuring staff are consistently at their duty posts.
“This is to ensure workers are available to perform their duties and serve the public effectively,” she said, urging management and departmental heads to ensure strict compliance.
