Oyo govt approves Saka Balogun as new Balogun of Ogbomosoland
The Oyo State Government has approved the appointment of Dr. Saka Balogun as the new Balogun of Ogbomosoland.
The announcement was made in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, on Monday.
According to a document from the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo, the position became vacant following the death of the former Balogun, Alhaji Shittu Fasina.
Dr. Saka Balogun was unanimously nominated by the Balogun Taiwo Atere-Gbebi Ruling House and endorsed by the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, who serves as the consenting authority.
The government stated that the appointment is in accordance with the Chiefs Law Cap. 28, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Dr. Balogun’s appointment took effect from April 28, 2025.
