PDP knocks Aiyedatiwa over delayed Ondo exco meeting, demands urgent action

The Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State on Wednesday faulted the administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa over what it described as a delayed Executive Council meeting, accusing the government of sluggish and reactive governance.
In a statement issued by its Director of Media and Public Communications, Wande Ajayi, the opposition party expressed concern that the meeting was reportedly the first Exco gathering of the year.
The party said the development raised serious questions about the urgency and responsiveness of the government in tackling critical challenges facing the state.
The PDP further criticised the administration’s focus on approving new hospital projects, arguing that existing healthcare facilities across the state remained in poor condition and understaffed.
“Healthcare delivery is not merely about erecting new buildings; it is about strengthening the entire system, from personnel to equipment to maintenance,” the party stated.
The opposition also faulted what it described as inadequate attention to security challenges, noting that communities across the state were still grappling with fear and unresolved threats.
It equally raised concerns over what it termed a lack of transparency, questioning the absence of details regarding the cost, contractors, timelines and funding structure of the proposed projects.
Calling for a shift in approach, the PDP urged the Aiyedatiwa administration to embrace urgency, transparency and measurable actions, warning that residents were no longer swayed by promises but by tangible results.
