The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, has presented cars to two senior members of his traditional cabinet, the Oyomesi.

The presentation, which took place on Wednesday at the palace in Oyo, was met with praise and chants from traditional performers who eulogized the monarch.

The beneficiaries of the royal gift were Oloye Lamidi Oyewale, the Iba Samu of Oyo, and Oloye Asimiyu Alaka, the Agbaakin of Oyo. Both high chiefs are prominent members of the Oyomesi—the traditional council that plays a crucial role in the governance and cultural preservation of the ancient town.

Oba Owoade personally handed over the keys and documents of the vehicles to the chiefs.

He also accompanied them to their new cars, offering prayers that the vehicles would serve them well and enhance their service to the people of Oyo.

Mogaji Adediwura Owoade, who prayed on behalf of the monarch, sought divine protection, long life, and continued prosperity for both the beneficiaries and the Alaafin himself.

He described the gesture as a symbol of unity and progress for Oyo land.

In their responses, the recipients expressed deep gratitude to the Alaafin. They pledged their continued loyalty, respect, and commitment to the service of the monarch and the people of Oyo.
