Vice President Kashim Shettima, in Maiduguri on Monday, hosted Borno elders and his classmates to celebrate the end of Ramadan.
The Vice President, who posted pictures of the event on his social media handles, wrote:

“Yesterday in Maiduguri, I met with Borno State elders and schoolmates as part of the activities marking this year’s Eid-el-Fitr.

“In my remarks, I urged Nigerians to embrace unity, peaceful coexistence, and tolerance as key pillars of national progress, drawing from the lessons of Ramadan.

“I also called on everyone to support the administration’s ongoing economic reforms, assuring that the short-term difficulties would yield long-term benefits for the country.”

“We thank Almighty Allah for sparing our lives to witness this Eid-el-Fitr. I also wish to say that we should all perfect, maintain, and build on the sense of unity that exists among us—for our collective gain and progress—as a gift to one another.”
