Police arrest, charge Ogbulu for sharing petrol at party

The Lagos State Police Command has charged Pearl Ogbulu to court for sharing petrol as souvenirs at a party in Lagos.

WESTERN POST had earlier reported that Ogbulu shared kegs of petrol during her installation ceremony as Erelu Okin of Orile Kemta in Lagos by Oba Adetokunbo Tejuoso in Oniru Lagos.

The police in a statement by the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, said Ogbulu was arraigned on a four-count charge before a Special Offences (Mobile) Court of Lagos State in the Ikeja Magisterial District.

“The prime suspect who distributed kegs of petrol as souvenirs at a party held at Havilah Events Centre, Victoria Island on 4th March, 2022, has been arrested, and subsequently arrraigned.

“The suspect, Ogbulu Chidinma Pearl, was arraigned on a four-count charge of conduct likely to cause breach of peace, endangering human life by distributing combustible matter in a public gathering, intent to do harm to another and unlawfully carrying on the business of storage and containerising petroleum product without permit.

“Ogbulu was arraigned on Monday, 14th March, 2022 at the Special Offences (Mobile) Court of Lagos State in the Ikeja Magisterial District, Holden at Oshodi,” the statement read.

The Lagos State government had earlier sealed off Havilah Event Centre, for contravening Public Safety Rules.
