The Ondo State Police Command has rolled out extensive security measures across the state ahead of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The development was announced in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, on Thursday, wherein the command stated that the move followed directives from the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, mandating tight security at examination centres nationwide.

According to the statement, security operatives have been stationed at all centres conducting the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Computer-Based Test across Ondo State.

“The command has deployed adequate personnel and operational assets to all JAMB CBT centres to ensure a safe and hitch-free examination process,” the statement read.

It added that officers have been assigned to manage access control, regulate traffic, and respond swiftly to emergencies within and around the centres.

“The deployment is part of a coordinated strategy to safeguard candidates, officials and facilities, while maintaining public order throughout the exercise,” the police said.

Similarly, the Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, assured candidates and parents of adequate protection, urging strict compliance with guidelines.

He further urged residents to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities, reiterating his commitment to ensuring a secure environment across the state.
