President Tinubu arrives in Lagos ahead of ECOWAS at 50 celebrations

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Tuesday ahead of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), scheduled to hold on Wednesday, May 28.
The presidential aircraft touched down at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, at approximately 4:15 p.m. The President was received by a welcoming delegation led by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and was honoured with a ceremonial military reception.
President Tinubu, who currently serves as Chairman of ECOWAS, will join regional leaders and dignitaries at the anniversary event taking place at Eko Hotels and Suites.
According to Presidential Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President will use the occasion to highlight ECOWAS’ milestones over the past five decades and outline the bloc’s future direction.
In addition to participating in the ECOWAS celebrations, President Tinubu is scheduled to inaugurate several infrastructure projects in Lagos on Saturday, May 31. These include Section I of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Lekki Deep Sea Port Tax Credit Concrete Road, the flag-off of Section II of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, and the 7th Axial Road.
