President Tinubu hails Flying Eagles’ World Cup qualification

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigeria’s U-20 men’s football team, the Flying Eagles, on their impressive performance at the ongoing AFCON U-20 tournament in Egypt and their qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile later this year.

In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, the President commended the team for making the nation proud despite falling short in their semi-final match.

“I congratulate our U-20 men’s football team, the Flying Eagles, for their terrific run at the AFCON U-20 2025 tournament in Egypt and for qualifying for the FIFA U-20 World Cup later this year in Chile,” the President wrote.

“You did Nigeria proud despite tonight’s semi-final loss. Keep your head up!”
