President Tinubu returns to Nigeria After Abu Dhabi Sustainability summit

President Bola Tinubu will return to Nigeria on Saturday after leading a Nigerian delegation to the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW2026) in the United Arab Emirates, the presidency has stated.
In a statement by posted on his X account on Saturday, Bayo Onanuga, Presidential spokesperson said, “President Tinubu leaving his hotel in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Saturday for the homeward journey, after attending the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
During the summit, Nigeria signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the UAE, aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between both countries.
The agreement is expected to boost bilateral trade and investment, enhance technology transfer, and expand collaboration in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, mining, and renewable energy.
On the sidelines of the event, President Tinubu announced that Nigeria will host a joint Nigeria–UAE INVESTOPIA in Lagos in February. The investment forum is designed to attract global investors and showcase economic opportunities in the country.
Addressing participants at the summit, the President also disclosed Nigeria’s plan to mobilise up to 30 billion dollars annually in climate and green industrial finance. He said the funding would support the country’s energy transition reforms and efforts to expand electricity access nationwide.
The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is a global platform that brings together leaders from government, business, and civil society to advance sustainable development and climate action.
