Reps panel traces 58 bank accounts, 39 workers to PFIPC

The House of Representatives has uncovered 58 bank accounts and 39 workers allegedly linked to Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who presented himself as the Director-General of the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

According to a report by DailyTrust, the discovery was disclosed on Wednesday by the House ad hoc committee investigating the activities of the organisation, chaired by Yusuf Gagdi.

The committee said preliminary financial investigations showed that more than 30 of the accounts were apparently operated in the names of about nine agencies, companies, foundations and related entities.

According to the lawmakers, the accounts were linked through Bank Verification Numbers (BVNs) and other identifying information associated with Adeyemi, who also appeared in some records as Adeyemi Matthew.

The committee, however, stressed that the discovery did not mean that every account, entity or transaction identified had been established as unlawful.

It said investigators were still reconciling registration records, account mandates, beneficial ownership details, signatories and transaction histories.

The investigation followed a resolution of the House on July 8, 2026, directing the committee to examine how the PFIPC came to be included in the Federal Budget Framework.

The committee said its investigation had so far found no evidence that the PFIPC was established under an Act of the National Assembly, a gazetted enactment, presidential executive order or any other valid government instrument.
