The Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Alumni Association (RUGIPO) has commended the Ondo State Government for approving the 12th to 23rd Combined Convocation Ceremonies of the institution after years of delay.

In a statement by its National President, Engr Chief Adesina Adeola, the association described the approval as a major milestone that restored pride to thousands of graduates and renewed confidence among students and stakeholders.

The body said the governor’s gesture reflected his administration’s commitment to education, youth development, and institutional advancement in the state.

According to the statement, the Alumni will mark the convocation week with several activities, including the commissioning of its National Secretariat, a groundbreaking for the Alumni Lock-Up Shops, and the ratification of its constitution.

The group explained that these projects were part of efforts to strengthen the institution’s foundation and promote unity and progress among graduates.

The alumni also appreciated the governing council for its dedication to the growth of the polytechnic and for keeping its legacy alive.

National PRO of the Association, Engr. Asulewon Samuel (Banty), urged graduates to attend the event in large numbers, describing it as “not just a convocation, but a reunion of legacy bearers.”
