Sanwo-Olu, Alausa, Osoba, others hail Tunji Bello’s contribution to education

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Minister of State for Education, Dr. Moruf Olatunji Alausa, and former Ogun State Governor, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, have commended the Vice Chairman/CEO of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Mr. Olatunji Bello, for his immense contributions to education and human development.
The tributes came during the handover of a newly constructed 550-capacity auditorium donated by Bello to the Lagos State University (LASU) campus in Epe. The modern facility, named the Olatunji-Bello Auditorium, was built as part of his efforts to enhance educational infrastructure and give back to society.
In his address, Governor Sanwo-Olu praised Bello’s vision, describing the project as a remarkable gesture toward academic excellence and public service. He said the facility would inspire students to pursue knowledge, creativity, and excellence.
“This modern facility is more than just a building; it is a beacon of knowledge, creativity, and intellectual engagement. It will serve as a hub for academic discourse, cultural exchange, and strategic gatherings, enriching the learning environment,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Alausa, applauded Bello’s dedication to education and urged other stakeholders to emulate his example. He reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to advancing education and technology in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Also speaking, Aremo Osoba lauded Bello’s selfless investment in education, describing the project as a gift that would benefit generations to come. He commended the FCCPC chief as a man of honour dedicated to uplifting society.
Vice Chancellor of LASU and wife of the donor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, expressed appreciation to the dignitaries present and praised her husband’s unwavering belief in the power of education. She noted that the new auditorium aligns with LASU’s strategic goal of raising future-ready leaders.
In his remarks, Bello restated his commitment to supporting education in Lagos and beyond, while urging students to use the facility responsibly and productively.
