Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has criticized social media commentator VeryDarkMan over his remarks about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his son, Seyi Tinubu.
Seun, the youngest son of the late Fela Anikulapo Kuti, stirred controversy online, with many perceiving his stance as support for Tinubu.
On Tuesday night, VeryDarkMan criticized Seyi Tinubu while discussing governance and Nigeria’s potential lessons from China. In a viral video, he referred to the president as old and dismissed his cabinet as outdated.
“Your father is old, and the people around him, their brains are dusty with cobwebs,” VeryDarkMan said.
In response, Seun Kuti rebuked those who believe they are more intelligent than the president, calling them “stupid.”
“If you think you’re smarter than Tinubu, you’re the one that is stupid,” Seun stated in his own video.
He also described Tinubu as a brilliant strategist, emphasizing that the president is well aware of happenings in Nigeria and across Africa.
Seun’s comments have sparked mixed reactions, further fueling debates about his political stance.
