Shettima, APC leaders storm Maiduguri for Zulum family wedding ceremony

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Saturday led a high-powered delegation of political leaders and government officials to Maiduguri, Borno State, for the wedding Fatiha of three children and a cousin of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.

Shettima on Saturday arrived at the ceremony alongside the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, members of the National Assembly, serving ministers, former governors and their deputies, in what has become one of the most prominent social gatherings in the state this year.

The Vice President is expected to serve as the Waliyi for Aisha Babagana Zulum, daughter of the Borno State governor, who is being given in marriage to the son of the Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Mohammed Idi Barde.

Other family members joining in the celebration include Umar Babagana Zulum, who is marrying Fatima Azzaki Jidda; Mamman Babagana Zulum, who is tying the knot with Yagana Mustapha Busuguma; and Abba Abubakar Umara, who is marrying Aisha Ibrahim Musa.

Among the dignitaries present at the event are former Vice President Babagana Kingibe, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Senate President Jibril Barau, and governors from Kaduna, Zamfara, Kebbi, Nasarawa, Sokoto, Kano, Katsina and Gombe states.

Also in attendance are former Borno State Governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, as well as several former governors and senior political figures.

Members of the Federal Executive Council present at the ceremony include the Ministers of Agriculture, Budget and Economic Planning, Housing and Urban Development, Health and Social Welfare, Education, and the Minister of State for Regional Development.
