Senator Remi Tinubu commissions first-ever secondary school in Abaranje community

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on Saturday commissioned the Oluremi Tinubu Secondary School in Abaranje, Ikotun, marking the establishment of the first-ever secondary school in the community.
The newly inaugurated school, located in Abaranje area of Ikotun, is a one-storey structure designed to provide access to quality education for residents of the area.
The project is expected to accommodate over 700 students, thereby addressing the long-standing shortage of public secondary education facilities in the community.
Speaking at the event, the First Lady commended Hon Kehinde Joseph, the Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Alimosho Constituency 2, for facilitating the project, describing it as a significant contribution to grassroots development.
She noted that the initiative aligns with the progressive governance agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly in expanding access to education across the country.
Highlighting the broader impact of the project, she said the school would help reduce youth involvement in crime and social vices within the community.
“This project will not only provide education but will also help depopulate gangs and violent groups, while giving our children the opportunity to attain their fullest potentials,” she said.
She, however, congratulated the people of Abaranje and urged them to take ownership of the facility by preserving it as a lasting legacy for future generations.
