Six secondary schools have emerged as finalists in the 2026 Kwara Internal Revenue Service Tax Club Quiz Competition organised to promote tax education and encourage voluntary compliance among young people.

The competition, organised by the Kwara Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) in collaboration with the state Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, concluded its semi-final stage on Wednesday with 12 schools participating in an online Computer-Based Test.

The semi-final exercise was conducted remotely, allowing the participating schools to take the test from their respective premises under appropriate back-end monitoring.

The monitoring was carried out by members of the KWIRS Tax Club Advocacy Committee alongside a representative of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs. Aina Bose Eunice.

At the end of the exercise, Oro Grammar School, Oro, and Ansar-u-deen College, Offa, emerged from Kwara South, while Government Secondary School, Lafiagi, and Government Secondary School, Ilesha Baruba, qualified from Kwara North.

From Kwara Central, St. Anthony’s Secondary School, Ilorin, and Ebenezer High School, Ilorin, secured places in the final, completing the six-school lineup for the concluding stage of the competition.

The finalists will compete for the grand prize of N2.5 million at the competition’s grand finale scheduled to hold in Ilorin on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.

The Tax Club Quiz Competition is an annual initiative organised to deepen tax awareness among secondary school students and foster a culture of voluntary tax compliance among the younger generation.
