The Soun of Ogbomoso, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, has called for support and collaboration with the people of Lagbedu and Olodanbon kingdoms to achieve what he described as true development.
The monarch made the appeal during a courtesy visit to two revered traditional rulers—Oba Adeyemo Joel Olusola, the Olodanbon of Odanbon, and Oba Amuda Akintoye Osunrinde II, the Onilagbedu of Lagbedu—on Wednesday.
During the visit, Soun shared his collective 25-year development plan for Ogbomosoland, emphasizing that genuine progress requires the joint effort of all stakeholders.
“In the spirit of unity and shared progress, I visited Oba Adeyemo Joel Olusola and Oba Amuda Akintoye Osunrinde II, accompanied by some of my chiefs. We were warmly received with genuine hospitality and royal courtesy. It was a truly humbling experience,” he said.

The monarch described the plan as a bold vision focused on economic growth, cultural revival, and infrastructural transformation.
“I encouraged the great people of Lagbedu and Olodanbon to be active partners in this journey. Together, we can preserve our heritage, empower our youth, and build a future of pride, progress, and prosperity,” he added.
Soun expressed gratitude for the warm reception and support shown to him and his team, reiterating that the journey toward transformation has just begun.
“This journey has only just begun—and together, we will make history,” he concluded in a statement.
