The Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Keffi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa III, CON, at his palace.
During the visit, Oba Ghandi shared a 25-year developmental blueprint for Ogbomosoland with sons and daughters of the town residing in Nasarawa and Keffi.
He urged them to embrace the collective responsibility of making Ogbomosoland greater, emphasizing that he cannot bring growth and development to the town alone.
“Yesterday, I had the distinct honor of paying a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa III, CON, the Emir of Keffi. From the very moment of our arrival, we were enveloped in warmth and graciousness that reflected not only his royal benevolence but also the enduring bond between our people. His welcome—rich in dignity and hospitality—deeply moved me and my esteemed entourage: HRM Oba Oyetunji Adeyeye, AVM Bolaji Adigun (Rtd), Dr. Samson Adegoke, and Prof. Sola Adepoju.

“To our beloved sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland who now call Nasarawa and Keffi home, I extend my heartfelt gratitude. Your presence, your stories, and the affection you so freely shared reminded me of the deep roots we carry and the indomitable spirit we inherit. You remain the living legacy of our forebears—warriors, traders, and visionaries who built Ogbomoso with resilience and enterprise.
“My journey to you is guided by a purpose as sacred as our heritage: to reconnect, to listen, and to unveil a vision—a 25-year developmental blueprint for Ogbomosoland. This vision is not merely a document; it is a declaration of our shared commitment to honor our past, empower our present, and shape a future of enduring progress.
“As we move forward, let us never lose sight of where we come from. Let the legacy of our founders burn bright in our hearts and guide our every step. I call on every son and daughter of Ogbomoso—wherever you may be—to rise to this moment. Awaken the dream within you. Embrace the responsibility of our collective destiny. And let us, hand in hand, breathe new life into our cherished land.
“Together, let us script a new chapter—one marked by unity, growth, and unyielding love for Ogbomosoland.”
