The National Sports Commission (NSC) continues to gain private sector support for its ambitious vision to elevate Nigerian sports, with the latest backing coming from SWA Sports, a leading sports solutions organization.
Under the leadership of NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko, the commission’s initiatives have drawn attention from private organizations eager to contribute.
SWA Sports, led by President and Founder Mrs. Aisha Shuaibu, recently visited NSC headquarters to pledge full support for Dikko’s vision. Shuaibu emphasized SWA’s commitment to partnering with the NSC to bring Nigerian sports back to its glory days and enhance its future.
“We aim to collaborate with the NSC and its chairman to realize his vision, revive our sports ecosystem, improve infrastructure, and foster meaningful partnerships,” she stated. “SWA Sports is fully behind the NSC and its goals.”
Chairman Dikko praised SWA Sports for their initiative, particularly acknowledging their efforts in organizing one of Nigeria’s prominent sports business conferences in Abuja earlier this year.
“It’s a welcome development, and SWA Sports’ mission clearly aligns with the NSC’s objectives,” Dikko said. “Our aim goes beyond sports development; we seek to create a thriving sports economy. The NSC is open to partnering with SWA Sports to attract more investment into the sector.”
Dikko highlighted the importance of private sector involvement, stating, “Investors need to understand the immense opportunities and benefits in the sports industry. We look forward to collaborating to grow Nigeria’s sports sector.”
In April, SWA Sports hosted the “2024 Sports as a Business” Conference, a landmark event that brought private and public sector leaders together in Abuja to advance the sports business landscape in Nigeria.
