Super Falcons interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen says Nigeria are ready for their next challenge after a 7-0 aggregate victory over Comoros secured their place in the third round of the African qualifiers for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
Nigeria sealed qualification with a 5-0 win in Tuesday’s second leg at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State, following a 2-0 victory in the first leg on Friday.
The Super Falcons will face Morocco in the next round after the North Africans advanced following the withdrawal of the Republic of Congo.
Eguavoen praised his players’ performance while acknowledging Comoros’ improvement in the second leg.
“I’m impressed with the result today. The aggregate score is 7-0. Comoros improved in their performance after the first leg,” he said.
He added that Nigeria would have preferred to face Morocco immediately to capitalise on their current momentum.
“We would have liked to play Morocco now because we are hot, but we cannot change the calendar,” he said.
The third round is scheduled for February 23 to March 6, 2027, with 16 teams competing for eight places in the fourth round.
