TICC hails Oyebamiji’s sportsmanship, urges Osun leaders to unite

The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the recently concluded Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, for congratulating Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory.

The council, in a statement issued on Monday by its spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, described Oyebamiji’s gesture as a demonstration of sportsmanship and political maturity.

“This is a commendable demonstration of sportsmanship and political maturity. Elections will come and go, but Osun State remains our collective heritage. The election was keenly contested, emotions ran high and, regrettably, precious lives were lost. This is therefore a time for healing, reconciliation and sober reflection,” the statement read.

The council urged leaders across political divides to work together for the peace, progress and development of Osun State, stressing that political differences should not become permanent divisions among people who share a common destiny.

He noted that the governor was open to ideas and suggestions from Oyebamiji and other stakeholders on how to move Osun State forward.

TICC added that the development of Osun State and the progress of its people remained a collective responsibility.

“There will always be another election and another opportunity to disagree politically. For now, let Osun heal. Let our leaders unite, and let the interest of our people come first,” it added.
