Tinubu appoints Enitan as Head of Civil Service

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, effective August 27.

Enitan will succeed Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who is due to retire from the Federal Civil Service after attaining the statutory retirement age of 60.

A statement issued on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, said Enitan is the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.

Enitan, who is from Osun State, has served as a Permanent Secretary for seven years and seven months.

He has worked at the Ministry of Police Affairs, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the Office of the Vice President. He is currently the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education.

According to the statement, Enitan brings “considerable institutional experience and a deep understanding of how the Federal Civil Service works” to the new position.

Tinubu also commended Walson-Jack for her service to the country and the reforms, innovations and other improvements recorded in the Civil Service during her tenure.

The President expressed his appreciation for her “distinguished service to the nation” and wished her a fulfilling life after retirement.
