Tinubu appoints new governing council members for UNIABUJA, UNN, NAU

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of new governing council members for three federal universities: the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (NAU).
The appointments were confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
This development follows the dissolution of UNIABUJA’s previous governing council in February, along with the controversial removal of the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Aisha Maikudi, over questions surrounding her eligibility.
The newly appointed members of UNIABUJA’s governing council are:
Prof. Rosemary Iriowen Egonmwan (South-South)
Dr. Adedeji Adefuye (South-West)
Prof. Sarki Abba Abdulkadir (North-West)
Prof. Aminu Mohammed Dukku (North-East)
In addition to the appointments at UNIABUJA, President Tinubu also named new members to the governing councils of UNN and NAU.
For the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), the new members are:
Rt. Hon. Barr. Ogbonna Eugene Odo (South-East)
Muhammad Inuwa Tahir, mni (North-West)
At Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU), the newly appointed council members are:
Dr. Nkem Okeke (South-East)
Ofoke Chukwuma Charles Ugbala (South-East)
Dame Amina Patrick Yakowa (North-West)
Nojeeb Oriola Agunbiade (South-West)
