The management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, has suspended all signing-out ceremonies and related celebrations on its campus with immediate effect following heightened security concerns.
This decision was taken directly by the vice-chancellor on behalf of the university’s Senate, ordering all students, particularly final-year undergraduates, to comply fully with the instruction.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Registrar, Dr. Grace Olubunmi Babalola, the preventive measure was enacted specifically to safeguard lives and property within the university community.
Consequently, students are strictly prohibited from organising or participating in signing-out parties, processions, or related social gatherings anywhere on campus.
To guarantee compliance, the university management directed deans, heads of departments, unit heads, and security personnel to rigorously enforce the order across all faculties.
Furthermore, authorities warned that any student or member of the institution who flouts the new directive will face severe disciplinary sanctions in accordance with varsity regulations.
In addition to internal penalties, the registrar emphasised that any breaches involving suspected criminal activities will be handed over directly to relevant law enforcement agencies.
Ultimately, management urged the entire university community to cooperate with safety officials while the indefinite suspension remains in force to maintain a peaceful, secure, and orderly academic environment.
