Tinubu asks security operatives to rescue kidnapped pupils in Ekiti

President Bola Tinubu has directed the armed forces to free the students who were abducted in Ekiti State.
The president also pledged that those responsible for the deaths of two Ekiti traditional rulers would face consequences.
Six students from Apostolic Faith School, three teachers, and a driver were reportedly abducted by gunmen on Monday in Eporo-Ekiti.
Also two monarchs who were also said to be returning from a security meeting in Ìrèlè-Ekiti were ambushed and killed.
The traditional rulers were identified as Oba David Ogunsakin, the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti; and Oba Olatunde Olusola, the Onimojo of Omojola-Ekiti.
The president’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, said in a statement on Tuesday that Tinubu extended his condolences to the people of Ekiti following the death of the traditional rulers.
“It is with grief that President Bola Tinubu receives the news of the killing of two traditional rulers in Ekiti State, the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola,” the statement read.
“President Tinubu condemns this mindless and brutal bloodletting and pledges that the perpetrators will not escape justice.”
