Vice President Kashim Shettima has reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to building inclusive prosperity through enterprise-driven reforms aimed at empowering entrepreneurs and stimulating sustainable economic growth across Nigeria.
Speaking on Tuesday at the launch of the 9th Expanded National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Clinic in Katsina State, Shettima announced President Tinubu’s approval of a ₦250,000 non-repayable grant for each outstanding MSME exhibiting at the event.
According to him, the grant reflects the administration’s determination to strengthen the backbone of the economy through targeted support for innovative small businesses.
“We are building a nation where every Nigerian entrepreneur — from our cities to our rural communities — has access to the tools and opportunities needed to thrive,” Shettima said. “This is the spirit of enterprise that will drive Nigeria’s renewed hope.”
The Vice President added that the Tinubu administration has also introduced other major support programmes, including a ₦75 billion Manufacturers Fund, to provide financial assistance to businesses in the manufacturing sector.
Delivering his keynote address titled “Katsina: The Spirit of Enterprise,” Shettima described MSMEs as a critical pillar of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that supporting small businesses remains central to the government’s plan for economic transformation.
He commended Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for his commitment to enterprise development, citing the establishment of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA) as a model for promoting entrepreneurship at the subnational level.
Shettima also revealed that under the Rural Area Programme on Investment for Development (RAPID), 23 MSMEs in rural Katsina have received a total of ₦112 million to expand their operations. In addition, the ₦5 billion Katsina State MSME Growth Fund, jointly managed by the federal and state governments, has already disbursed ₦576 million to 237 beneficiaries since June 2024.
