By Kunle Sanni –
President Bola Tinubu has extended warm birthday wishes to the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed, commending his dedication and service to Nigeria’s energy sector.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Ahmed as a “steady hand in a transformative era,” noting his instrumental role in stabilising the downstream petroleum industry, particularly in the wake of the fuel subsidy removal.
President Tinubu praised Ahmed’s leadership in ensuring steady fuel supply and eliminating the long-standing problem of fuel queues across the country. He also highlighted Ahmed’s contributions to building a more transparent, competitive, and consumer-driven energy market, in line with the administration’s reform agenda.
“As Nigeria navigates a critical phase in energy transformation, Mr. Farouk Ahmed has shown professionalism and vision, helping to lay the foundation for a resilient and efficient petroleum regulatory framework,” the President said.
President Tinubu concluded by wishing Ahmed continued success, wisdom, and good health as he supports the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda in the energy sector.
