Tinubu commissions largest school complex in Sub-Sahara Africa

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday inaugurated 36 regenerated schools, including 19 football pitches, in Ajegunle, Lagos, built by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.

The Tolu Schools Complex is described by the state government as the largest school facility in sub-Saharan Africa on a single site.

Similarly. Senate President Godswill Akpabio, representing President Tinubu, also virtually unveiled the Abijo Food Hub along the Ajah–Ibeju-Lekki Expressway.

Speaking about the project, Tinubu praised the Lagos State Government, saying it shows what bold and focused leadership can accomplish.

He added that his Renewed Hope Agenda emphasizes access to quality education and practical skills for young Nigerians, appreciating the governor for working in line with his mandate.

In his remarks, Sanwo-Olu described the development as a “school city” comprising 36 institutions from primary to senior secondary levels.

He said the project includes new classrooms, rehabilitated buildings, a vocational centre, and a special needs school to enhance learning and skills acquisition.

The governor equally urged the public to make good use of the initiative, stressing that it is for their development.

The ceremony which followed the inauguration of the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State eGIS Building, and the Lagos State Multi-Agency Building on Wednesday had several dignitaries in attendance including Muhammad Gobir, Josephine Piyo, Dr. Tunji Alausa, and Jumoke Oduwole, attended the event.
