Tinubu reconstitutes Police Academy governing council, names Gaidam chairman

President Bola Tinubu has approved the reconstitution of the 16-member governing council of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, appointing Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, as chairman.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The new council includes the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, the Inspector-General of Police, and representatives from the Federal Ministries of Education, Finance, and Justice.

Six members were also appointed to represent the country’s geopolitical zones. They are Babagana Zannah Adam (North East), Emmanuel Torkuma Manger (North Central), Maigari Abati Dikko (North West), Dubem A. Obaze (South East), Ajibogere Toyin (South West), and Udom Udo Ekpoudom (South South).

Also serving on the council as ex officio members are the Commandant of the Academy, the Provost, and the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of training.

The registrar of the Academy will serve as secretary of the council.
