UK parliamentarians visit Lagos DSVA, laud agency

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence (DSVA) has received the delegates of the UK Parliament on a courtesy visit to the Agency.

In her welcome address, the Executive Secretary of DSVA, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, emphasised that the State Government had made significant strides in combating Sexual and Gender-Based Violence.

She further noted the need for strengthening global partnerships and described the engagement with distinguished members of the UK Parliament as a moment that presents a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and explore areas for collaboration in the fight against domestic and sexual violence.

During the interactive session with the Parliamentarians, the leader of the team, Kate Osamor commended the Agency and promised to share legislative instruments that regulate the UK’s response to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence.

The Head of Public Affairs, UK Office in Nigeria, Wale Adebajo reiterated the existing collaboration between the British High Commission and the DSVA.

Head of Case Management at DSVA, Mrs. Tumininu Oni made a presentation on the Agency’s work and achievements over the years.

The UK Parliament team includes, Jacob Loose, Magdalene El Beleidi, Kate Osamor, David Mundell, Fred Thomas, ⁠

Becky Cooper, ⁠Karen Bradley and Jonny Oates were taken on a tour of the DSVA Facility and presented with souvenirs before their departure.
