WAFU B: Nigeria thrash Togo 3-0, book semi-final spot

Nigeria’s U-20 team, the Flying Eagles, have reached the WAFU B U-20 semi-finals after a 3-0 win over Togo in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.

Abdul Maikaba’s side, fresh from a 4-2 win over Ghana, secured qualification with a game to spare.

Togo started brightly and threatened in the first half, but the match remained goalless at the break.

Nigeria took control after halftime, with Muiz Adeleke scoring just a minute in and adding a second in the 59th minute after a solo run past the goalkeeper.

Substitute Abdoulaye Agbejoye sealed the win with a late third goal in the 85th minute.

The Flying Eagles will face Burkina Faso on Sunday in the semi-finals.
