Rising insecurity plot to undermine Tinubu’s reforms — Akpabio

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, says that the recent surge in terrorist attacks across Nigeria is part of a coordinated effort to undermine the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
Akpabio made the remarks on Tuesday in Abuja during a goodwill message at the commissioning of the Nigeria Revenue Service Headquarters in Abuja.
He suggested that the attacks were being deliberately sponsored to distract the President from ongoing reforms.
“Believe me, Mr President, two weeks after you win the elections, the bomb blasts will stop. People are sponsoring it to distract you from your work,” he said, adding that Tinubu was performing well despite what he described as a “gang up” against his administration.
The comments come amid heightened security concerns nationwide and follow a recent high-level security meeting at the Presidential Villa.
On Monday, Western Post reported that Tinubu held closed-door talks with the Chief of Defence Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, alongside a visiting French military official.
The meeting, which began around 2:00 pm, marked Tinubu’s first official engagement since returning from Bayelsa on Friday.
