The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has arrested two suspects for allegedly operating a private security outfit, Double Razzor, without the required licence.
The suspects, identified as Abraham Stephen Job and Adebowale Qazeem Adeniyi, were arrested following an investigation into the outfit’s activities and its authorisation to provide bouncer and other private security services.
Their arrest was announced in a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASC I Ayoola Shola, in Ilorin.
According to the statement, the allegations against the suspects include operating a private security outfit without a licence and providing regulated security services without the requisite statutory authorisation.
The command explained that the offences fall under laws and regulations governing private guard companies in Nigeria, which require operators to obtain the necessary licences before providing regulated security services.
It emphasised that the NSCDC is statutorily responsible for regulating and licensing private guard companies, warning operators against engaging in security activities without meeting the relevant legal requirements.
The State Commandant, Abbas Mohammed, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to enforcing compliance and curbing unauthorised private security operations across Kwara State. He urged event organisers, corporate bodies and members of the public to engage only duly licensed security providers.
The command said it would continue to sanitise the private security sector, protect lives and property, and promote accountability in security operations.
