The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a suspected thief and recovered a motorcycle and a generator believed to have been stolen in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area, following a tip-off from a vigilant motorist.

In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, the police said the suspect, identified as Adam Muhammed, was arrested on Sunday, October 25, 2026, after operatives intercepted an unregistered tricycle conveying the items along the Onigbedu–Itori Road towards Papalanto.

According to the police, the two occupants of the tricycle attempted to flee when officers intercepted them near Complex Junction. However, Muhammed was apprehended after a chase, while his alleged accomplice escaped. Efforts to track down the fleeing suspect are ongoing.

The police said preliminary investigations had linked the recovered grey Haojue Lady motorcycle and Firman generator to a theft previously reported in Itori.

The suspect remains in custody as detectives continue their investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the officers involved in the operation and the motorist whose alert prompted the intervention.

He urged residents to promptly report suspicious activities, noting that timely information from the public could help prevent crime and protect property.

Ojajuni added that the command would sustain proactive patrols and swift responses to credible intelligence.
