Abuja-based journalist found dead with stab wounds

An Abuja-based journalist who was declared missing recently has been found dead five days after he went missing.

Joel Waksi, who works with Atar Communication, owners of Liberty TV/Radio was said to have left office around 9pm on Friday and was expected back at work the following day.

He however, did not show up at work and was declared missing.

The Group General Manager of Atar Communication, Balarabe Muhammad, confirmed the incident.

He said the police revealed that Joels’ body was found near Panteka area of Mpape, a suburb of Abuja and has been deposited at the Kubwa General Hospital morgue.

According to Muhammad, the victim was stabbed around his neck, and his phone was missing.

There are suspicions he might have been attacked by phone snatchers as he had survived a similar attack two months ago. In that attack, he was stabbed below the abdomen and received treatment at an hospital.
