AFCON Qualifiers: Chadian referee to officiate Nigeria-Madagascar clash

Chadian referee Alhadji Allaou Mahamat has been appointed to officiate the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying clash between Nigeria and Madagascar.

The Group D encounter is scheduled for Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, with both teams seeking valuable points in the qualification campaign.

Mahamat will be assisted by other members of his officiating team as the Super Eagles host the Barea of Madagascar in what is expected to be a competitive encounter.

Nigeria will be seeking to capitalise on home advantage and strengthen its position in Group D, while Madagascar will aim to secure a positive result away from home.

The appointment of Mahamat adds an international dimension to the highly anticipated fixture as both teams continue their preparations for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
