Ajayi Crowther University has expelled several students involved in a fight resulting in the death of a fellow student.

In a statement issued by the University detailed that the altercation stemmed from accusations against the deceased student, who was alleged to have stolen a mobile phone.

While concealing the exact number of expelled students, the university confirmed that none of them belonged to a cult group.

The university emphasized its zero-tolerance policy for anti-social behavior and reiterated that there is no cultism within the institution.

“Contrary to what is trending, the university affirms that there is no cultism in the institution, just as the university has zero tolerance for any sort of anti-social vices and misconduct. It is important to stress that the expelled students do not belong to any cult group,” the statement read.

The university explained that instead of reporting the theft allegation to the management, the involved students acted on their emotions, which tragically led to the death of their colleague.

In response to the incident, the university has handed over all involved students to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation, assuring that justice will be served.
