Akande, Yuguda, others appointed to tertiary education governing councils (List)

A former governor of Osun State and pioneer chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Bisi Akande has been appointed as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Ibadan.
Chief Akande is one of the 555 Nigerians who made the list of the reconstituted governing councils of federal universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education approved by President Bola Tinubu.
The list released by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Friday, contains names of eminent Nigerians, including a former governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isa Yuguda, who was appointed Chairman of the Governing Council of the National Open University of Nigeria; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Yayale Ahmed, appointed Chairman of the Governing Council of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; Senator Joy Emordi as the Chair at Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri, Imo State and Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, the chair of the Governing Council of the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State.
Lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Wole Olanipekun will be the head of the Governing Council of the University of Lagos, Akoka.

The list has five names for the 51 federal universities, 35 polytechnics, and 22 education colleges. Each governing council comprises a chairman and four members. Some notable members are:
