Alli camp defends principal’s manifesto, calls it practical response to Oyo challenges

The Senator Sharafadeen Alli Campaign Organisation has defended the All Progressives Congress governorship manifesto in Oyo State, describing it as a direct solution to pressing local challenges.
Reacting to criticism from African Political Movement candidate Bimbo Adekanmbi, the campaign accused him of shielding Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration despite visible shortcomings across primary sectors.
Furthermore, the organisation maintained that Alli’s OYO AHEAD manifesto provides actionable policies tailored to fix long-standing gaps in local government administration, healthcare, education and agriculture.
Highlighting systemic issues across the state, the team alleged that public hospitals remain severely understaffed, while previously touted farm settlements and estates have fallen into total disuse.
Addressing claims that the manifesto lacks originality, the group argued that fundamental priorities like youth employment, civil service welfare and economic development remain essential regardless of who proposes them.
In addition, the statement underscored Alli’s extensive public service credentials, citing his past roles as council chairman, Secretary to the State Government, gubernatorial Chief of Staff and current Oyo South senator.
The organisation subsequently challenged critics to explain why current deficiencies in primary healthcare centres should preclude a future administration from building properly funded, adequately staffed facilities.
Ultimately, the campaign urged Oyo voters to assess Alli’s administrative track record and policy proposals carefully as the state prepares for the 2027 governorship election.
