By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, has described the August 15 Osun governorship election as critical to the future of the state, urging party members to intensify their efforts ahead of the poll.

Basiru, in a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists on Tuesday in Osogbo, said the call followed a high-level strategic meeting held at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

He said the meeting reviewed the party’s level of preparedness for the election and deliberated on strategies to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, enhance voter engagement, consolidate party unity and ensure a coordinated campaign across all local government areas and wards in the state.

The APC national scribe urged party leaders to intensify mobilisation efforts, remain united and work tirelessly to secure victory for the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

Basiru also charged party faithful and supporters to remain focused, law-abiding and committed to democratic values, while encouraging eligible voters to participate peacefully in the election.

He added that party leaders at the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to the APC and expressed confidence in the party’s growing acceptance across the state.

According to the statement, the meeting ended with a renewed commitment by stakeholders to deliver victory for the APC and its governorship candidate.

The statement expressed optimism that Osun was poised for a new era of purposeful leadership, inclusive governance, sustainable development and shared prosperity under Oyebamiji’s administration.
