BREAKING: Tinubu returns to Nigeria after four-week stay in Europe
President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after spending about four weeks in Europe.
Tinubu arrived in Lagos from Paris aboard Nigerian Air Force One at about 6:22pm on Tuesday, with the aircraft taxiing into the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
The President was welcomed at the airport by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Jubrin Barau; Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Also at the airport to welcome Tinubu were the Lagos State APC governorship candidate, Obafemi Hamzat, and his running mate, Damilola James.
The President departed Nigeria on August 30 for London before proceeding to Paris, where he held several engagements, including a meeting and dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron.
His return ends his extended stay outside the country, with Tinubu expected to participate in activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
